Symmetry

This is what we have been learning for math, symmetry. We have been learning 3 types of symmetry.
They are called Reflective symmetry, Translation symmetry, and Rotational symmetry. Reflective symmetry means if you put it in a mirror in the middle of a photo it will reflect the same. Translation symmetry means it can move one place to anther. Rotational symmetry means that if you rotat the shape it will be the same.
What symmetry do you know?

  1. Kia ora Theo,
My name is Kieryn and I will be working with Kaniere School to comment on your blog posts over the next two terms.
Kai pai on writing such a fantastic blog post about symmetry! I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of detail you have included in this blog post, and can’t believe how much information I have learnt from reading this! The image you have included is fantastic, and I really appreciate how you have included the type of symmetry under each photo. How did you make this image?
It would be great if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
You mentioned in your post how translation symmetry means that it can move from one place to another. What exactly do you mean by this?
You have done an excellent job, keep up the great work!

    2. Kia ora Theo,
Thank you so much for replying to my comment and answering all of the questions I asked!
The Piwakawaka Learning Site sounds like it must be so beneficial to your learning, especially when it can help you create awesome images like the one featured in your blogpost.
How long did this blogpost take you to make?
You have explained translation symmetry so well, and I now think I understand exactly what you meant in your original blog post.
      Keep up the fantastic work!
