ANZAC Biscuits

Me and my Dad have made some ANZAC biscuits. I have not tried them but it was fun to make. Did you know ANZAC means Australia New Zealand Army Corp?  My great-great-grandfather died in  WWI. Have you ever tried ANZAC biscuits?

  1. Those biscuits look really good Theo. We made some here too but they did not last very long at all. Yes I did know what ANZAC meant, What else do you know about ANZAC day? You must be very proud of your great- great grandfather even though it is very sad that he died in the war Theo.

  3. Hi Theo. I bet you have tasted those yummy biscuits by now! Did your recipe use golden syrup and brown sugar? I am wondering what ingredients the very first Anzac biscuits used. It would be great if you could find out and let me know. That's really sad news about your great-great-grandfather. What else do you know about him? I see he came from Christchurch. Do you still have family who live there? Was he in Gallipoli? It was such a long, long way for our young soldiers to go. Do you know where it is? Maybe your mum and dad have been there.

  4. Hi Theo
Those biscuits look delicious! I wonder if you can give some more information about your great great grandfather. Do you know where he fought? That may help you work out where he might be buried. There are a lot of war memorials on different battlefields overseas. I know some of my relatives names appear on the memorials at Chunik Bair at Gallipoli, Cassino, Alamein in North Africa, and Ypres in Belgium. One day I hope to get to Europe so that I can go and pay my respects. I hope you too can go to visit your great great grandfathers resting place if you choose.
